This contest would consist of designing a coded website so that we, as untalented normal people, can edit and add pages to the site as needed. At a minimum, we would need a homepage, a category page "ie, florida church listings", a city portal page "ie, jacksonville florida listings", business directory listing ability...and, the ability for consumers to list their products for sale.
We have enclosed a sample home page to get some idea going and a logo as well.
The site would need to be editable by us in WYSIWYG as we will be adding new cities and new categories on an ongoing basis. We would need to be able to edit the text and meta/title tages as well as put our own hyperlinks in.
THE HOME PAGE: should give the searcher the ability to post a listing for sale, search for items for sale, post a business directory listing...or, search the business directory... ideally, if they are searching for a product, they can "click" on the link for that product and go this page. When listing a product for sale, there would need to be some form of user id/sign up that allows them to post listings (we set the price)
THE CATEGORY PAGE: should be either items (for sale) or listings (as a business directory would have). There would need to be room to add banner ads on the side and future google adsense as well. We are looking for a page we can add as we grow into different listing categories.
THE CITY PAGE: should be similar to a city portal page. It would have the same categories as the home page, just the link would say "church listings" under the "jacksonville florida listings" page. Again, we hope to get one editable city portal page and we will edit the rest from this file.
The ability for consumers to list a product for sale, or a business to post a listing is very important.
We envision our "business" directory listings to include business name (clickable link to their website), address, phone, description and small photograph of the business.
Please use your creativity as our homepage is just something we came up with...we like clean, web 2.0 design...
The winner would hopefully work with us as need to help finish out the site and would need to be available (for a fee, of course) for harder problems...
Thanks, and good luck!!!
